As part of the 1FUTURE project, the University of Novi Sad (UNS), Faculty of Technical Sciences, hosted two successful training visits aimed at enhancing the professional development of academic staff from Western Balkan Countries Higher Education Institutions. The training sessions took place in two phases, from August 26\u201330, 2024, and October 21\u201325, 2024, bringing together faculty members from the University of Montenegro, University College CEPS from Bosnia and Herzegovina, University of Tirana, Polytechnic University of Tirana, \u201cLuarasi\u201d University, and University of Tuzla. The program focused on capacity building and fostering regional academic cooperation. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops, interactive sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities, covering key topics such as Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) and Fire Safety Engineering, with an emphasis on spatial and temporal fire hazard analysis. These sessions aimed to equip participants with innovative teaching methodologies, improve research capabilities, and develop specialized educational materials that will enhance their respective curricula. Over the course of five days, participants attended structured training modules, visited the Science and Technology Park, and explored best practices in integrating research with teaching. Faculty members from UNS, including Prof. Dr. Mirjana Laban and Assist. Prof. Dr. Suzana Dragani\u0107, led the sessions, providing expert guidance and mentorship. Attendees expressed their enthusiasm for future collaborations in joint research, student exchange programs, and co-authored academic publications. The training program reinforced the importance of regional cooperation in higher education and underscored the commitment of the 1FUTURE project to building climate-resilient and academically strong institutions in the Western Balkans and the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
