The Faculty of Mining, Geology and Civil Engineering of the University of Tuzla hosted a guest lecturer, Prof. Filippo Magni from the Iuav University of Venezia, Italy, on March 26 and 27, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 26th March prof. Magni delivered a lecture entitled \u201cPlanning for Climate Change\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lecture presented five key priorities for integrating climate change into planning, framed within the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and relevant governance tools. It also explored the impacts of climate change on urban and rural environments, highlighting challenges such as extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and resource depletion. At the same time, introduced adaptive solutions, including nature-based approaches, multi-level governance strategies, and technological innovations that can support resilient and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By examining the connections between planning and other disciplines, this session provided a broader perspective on how climate adaptation strategies can be relevant to different sectors. The aim is to foster an interdisciplinary understanding of climate resilience, encouraging collaborative approaches to tackling the complex challenges of our changing environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the second day, students had the opportunity to spend additional time with the professor and learn more about the topic during a Q & A session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interactive format, combining theoretical knowledge with case studies, provided participants with practical tools and knowledge for interdisciplinary understanding of climate resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
