As part of the 1FUTURE project’s commitment to fostering knowledge exchange and sustainable practices, Professor Meri Cvetkovska from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, North Macedonia, delivered two lectures at the University College “CEPS-Center for Business Studies” in Kiseljak, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The lectures, held on November 4 and 6, 2024, engaged students and lecturers in critical discussions on environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and circular economy solutions.
On Day 1 (November 4, 2024), Professor Cvetkovska explored the influence of traffic and buildings on environmental pollution, highlighting the role of energy-efficient building practices in reducing ecological footprints. The interactive session provided students with practical insights into sustainable urban development and the impact of modern infrastructure on the environment.
On Day 2 (November 6, 2024), she shifted the focus to the circular economy as a solution for environmental pollution, emphasizing waste reduction strategies, resource efficiency, and innovative models for sustainable development. Through an engaging and participatory approach, students examined real-world applications of circular economy principles in various industries.
These teaching activities align with the 1FUTURE project’s mission to enhance sustainability education and foster cross-border cooperation between academic institutions in the Western Balkans and the EU. By integrating best practices into the curriculum, the initiative aims to equip future professionals with the skills and awareness necessary to address contemporary environmental challenges
