As part of the 1FUTURE project’s Work Package 4, Luarasi University hosted two insightful teaching sessions on the Operationalization of Societal Resilience and Preparedness and Planning on March 20–21, 2025. These sessions were led by Marcus Abrahamsson, a lecturer from the Division of Risk Management and Societal Safety at Lund University, Sweden. Designed for an audience of 30 university students, the sessions explored critical aspects of societal resilience, risk preparedness, and strategic planning in the face of crises. The first day focused on understanding and operationalizing societal resilience, while the second session, held on March 21, 2025, emphasized preparedness and planning strategies to enhance community adaptability and response capabilities.
Using an interactive methodology, including case studies, discussions, and group activities, students actively analyzed real-world scenarios and engaged in thought-provoking conversations on strengthening societal resilience. The sessions equipped both undergraduate and postgraduate students with practical tools and knowledge to address challenges related to risk management and societal safety, contributing to broader discussions on sustainable resilience strategies. With a total duration of two hours, these lectures provided a comprehensive learning experience, reinforcing the importance of proactive planning and resilience-building efforts in an increasingly complex world.
