Podgorica, March 28, 2025 – The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Montenegro hosted a two-part lecture series by Associate Professor Henrik Hassel from the Division of Risk Management and Societal Safety at Lund University, Sweden. The lectures were part of the 1Future project initiative and aimed at promoting sustainable and informed decision-making in complex environments.
The first day featured an interactive lecture on “Uncertainties and Robust Decision Making”, where Prof. Hassel explored the challenges of making reliable decisions in the presence of uncertainty. The session included practical insights and frameworks for improving resilience in planning and design, especially in the context of civil engineering and infrastructure development.
On the second day, the topic continued with a focus on Q&A and an introduction to Lund University’s ongoing activities in the field of risk and safety research. The interactive discussion format allowed students and staff to engage directly with Prof. Hassel, ask questions, and exchange ideas on both academic and practical applications of robust decision-making.
The sessions were attended by university students and employees, providing exposure to international expertise in risk management and offering opportunities for future collaboration.
