As part of Work Package 4 of the 1FUTURE project, Luarasi University hosted an insightful lecture session on Circular Economy in Buildings on May 29, 2025. The session was delivered by Professor Mirjana Laban, an expert in sustainable architecture and circular design.
Targeted at a diverse group of undergraduate and postgraduate students, the lecture explored core aspects of circularity in the context of buildings—ranging from material reuse and life-cycle thinking to sustainable construction practices and innovative policy frameworks.
Through a dynamic and participatory approach, Prof. Laban integrated theoretical insights with real-world case studies, fostering open dialogue and collaborative reflection among the 25 student participants.
The one-hour session emphasized the significance of rethinking conventional building practices in light of climate change and resource scarcity, equipping students with practical strategies and a forward-looking mindset to support the transition toward a circular built environment.
