The Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana, successfully hosted the Tailor-Made Short Intensive Course “Sustainable Development, Circular Economy and Societal Resilience” during 9–19 December 2025. The course was designed as an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented learning experience, addressing key challenges related to sustainability, resilience, and ethical innovation.
The program brought together an international group of lecturers from Lund University (Sweden), the University of Gothenburg (Sweden), and the University of Novi Sad (Serbia), alongside academic staff from the University of Tirana and experts from the NGO sector, including the Institute for Nature Conservation in Albania. A dedicated module focused on Artificial Intelligence and Ethics, highlighting the role of responsible and ethical AI in advancing sustainable development and informed decision-making.
Participants included students from the Faculty of Economics as well as professionals from relevant sectors. The course covered a wide range of topics such as education for sustainable development, circular economy business models, inclusive and sustainable growth, risk assessment methodologies, robust decision-making, and societal resilience in the face of future global challenges.
Through lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions, participants strengthened their skills while gaining valuable international perspectives. The course contributed to capacity building and knowledge transfer, reinforcing the project’s commitment to promoting sustainability, innovation, and ethical governance.
