The 1FUTURE project aims to to improve regional capacities in implementing Green Deal goals within higher education system. The 1Future project builds up on the needs and the ambition to lead climate action in HEIs in the WB Region. Within the project, HEIs of the region will serve as the gear that connects different stakeholders for building climate resilient communities.

Erasmus + Program

The Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) action supports international cooperation projects based on multilateral partnerships between organisations active in the field of higher education. It will support a successful green and sustainable global economic recovery in the third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme, linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.

Leading Partner

The University of Tirana is the largest university in the country. It consists of six faculties and two institutes and offers 174 programs in all three cycles of study, with 779 full-time academic staff and approximately 28,550 students. Thanks to its tradition, high level of qualification, training and certification, the University of Tirana remains the most sought after university in Albania.

The Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana, staff members of “1Future- jOiNEd For sUsTainability – bUilding climate REsilient communities in WB and EU”, an innovative initiative addressing climate change and sustainability, made a special appearance on the “Education Auditor” TV Show on the National Albanian TV- RTSH. This appearance aimed at raising awareness about the urgent need for sustainable practices and foster a collective commitment to combat climate change.

The “1Future” team has been at the forefront of fostering sustainable education and environmental awareness, demonstrating their commitment to a greener, more sustainable future. Their participation in “Education Auditor” TV Show provides a fantastic opportunity to showcase the remarkable activities of the project that will be implemented in the next three years and encourage a wider audience to join the cause. “Education Auditor” is a widely watched program known for featuring inspiring stories and influential guests in the field of education. Its platform serves as a powerful medium to raise awareness on important issues and motivate positive change in society through education system.

The “1Future” project, which was launched on the 1st of April 2023, has started to gain recognition for its approach to mitigating the effects of climate change and sustainable development. Through, education programmes, research activities, innovation, and community engagement, the project will achieve significant milestones in improving regional capacities in implementing Green Deal goals within higher education system, initiating actions towards environment, climate change, sustainability and resilience.

During the discussion with the moderator, the project team shared the project activities and the impact that the project will have on local, national and Western Balkan communities. Through innovative research, community engagement, and practical solutions, the project aims to create a greener, more resilient future for all Western Balkan countries.

By promoting the project on a widely watched platform like “Education Auditor”, the project team hopes to ignite a powerful ripple effect of positive change, inspiring individuals, businesses, and governments to prioritize sustainability efforts.
