he Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Tirana, had the pleasure to welcome from 17-21 of November 2025, an expert from IUAV University for a coaching visit. The purpose of the coaching and monitoring visit was to assess the current status, performance, and strategic development of the Knowledge Hub for Climate and Sustainability (KHCS), in line with the objectives of the 1FUTURE project. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration, support teaching activities, review the organizational and operational functioning of the Hub, and jointly explore avenues for future cooperation and sustainability.
The visit was combined in the following dimensions:
Pedagogical contribution, through teaching activities within the Tailor-Made Short Intensive Course (TMSIC), including a lecture on Cities as Living Systems: Understanding and Re-shaping Urban Metabolism.
Coaching, through dialogue with KHCS staff, researchers, and students to understand achievements, needs, and potential improvements.
Monitoring, by evaluating facilities, resources, institutional structure, partnerships, and implementation challenges as described in the KHCS status presentation
Strategic collaboration, through meetings with academic staff, administrative personnel, NGOs, and other stakeholders, as well as site visits relevant to sustainability and safety in construction.
