Project Management Meeting and Study Visit in Ohrid, North Macedonia
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our recent Project Management Meeting and Study Visit, held from July 1 to July 3, 2024, organized by our partner Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM). The study visit was organized in the town of Ohrid and its main focus was sustainable heritage protection, sustainable urban development and energy efficiency in buildings. This event brought together all partners and stakeholders to discuss and advance various work packages and initiatives within the 1FUTURE project. The event was also attended by our associated partner, Municipality of Lukavac in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Day 1: Project Management Meeting
The first day focused on finalizing and reviewing significant aspects of the project. UPT and LUND presented the final report on WP2, detailing the process and outcomes achieved. CEPS provided updates on procurement, purchase, and establishment of equipment and working spaces for the Knowledge Hubs on Climate and Sustainability (KHCS), and the establishment of the legal entity and foundation of KHCS in each WBC partner institution. Partners also discussed the operation of the 1FUTURE Platform, sharing valuable suggestions and proposals. The day concluded with a comprehensive financial reporting workshop and a social dinner, fostering collaboration and teamwork among participants.
Day 2: Continued Dialogue and Curriculum Revisions
The second day featured a guided tour to historical monuments, highlighting renovation aspects relevant to our project. This was followed by discussions on curriculum revisions, where WBC partners proposed updates, emphasizing innovative elements and the approval process. The session moderated by UTA and Luarasi University provided an opportunity to follow up on WP6, and UKIM presented the quality report. The day’s activities further strengthened our commitment to enhancing educational frameworks and project quality.
Day 3: Study Visit on Sustainable Development
The final day was dedicated to a study visit focusing on urban sustainability and energy efficiency. Presenters from UKIM delivered insightful lectures on various aspects of sustainable development, urban areas, public spaces, and energy efficiency. These sessions provided valuable knowledge and practical strategies for sustainable development, particularly in the context of energy-efficient buildings and historical renovations.
The event concluded with fruitful discussions on WP2, marking the end of a productive and enlightening three-day meeting and study visit.
